Summer Block Party Information

An application for a block party must be filled out and submitted to the Borough Office at least two weeks (14 days) in advance of the requested block party date. Once the application is approved by the Chief of Police, you will be called to pay. Once paid, a request for service will be sent to the Borough Street Department so that barricades may be delivered prior to the requested time and date.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION:

  • Applications must be submitted at least 14 days in advance of the date for which applying, or it will be denied.
  • Resident signing the application must be an adult & must reside in block being closed.
  • Block party permits will be issued for neighborhood events. Individual graduations, birthday parties, weddings, etc. are not eligible.
  • Applicants must make a good faith effort to contact each household affected by closure.
  • Block parties may begin at 10am and must be completed no later than 11pm.
  • Barricades will be provided by the Dormont Street Department. Applicants must make sure that both ends of the block are blocked off with provided barricades.
  • Only intersection to intersection block parties will be approved (1 block).

No more than 3 permits shall be granted by the Borough of Dormont in a calendar year for the same block.
