Walk Ups Welcome – see below for supply information on day of event
Join the Borough of Dormont for the annual Litter Clean Up event on Sunday, April 27 from 9:00am-11:00am. Supplies provided including gloves, safety vests and trash bags. Every volunteer will be given a coupon to redeem for a free Scoop from Millie’s Ice Cream at the Dormont Goes Green event.
Early Supply Pick-Up: Supplies will be available for pick up at the William and Muriel Moreland Dormont Municipal Center 1444 Hillsdale Avenue during office hours starting Tuesday, April 1 at 10am. While we encourage participation the day of the event, the Borough does allow for you your own litter clean-up time.
Office Hours:
Monday 8:30am-8pm
Tuesday-Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm
Friday 8:30am-12pm
If you’d like your supplies ready when you arrive at the window in the office, please email clerks@boro.dormont.pa.us – this is not required but would allow us to get your supplies ready ahead of your arrival.
Day of Supply Pick-Up: Supplies will also be available to pick-up in the Borough Lobby at 1444 Hillsdale Ave the morning of the event from 8:30am-9:30am.

“Dormont Goes Green” event is back for 2025! This Arbor Day celebration and education event that will take place immediately following Dormont’s Annual Spring Litter Clean Up Event on Sunday, April 27 (Litter sign-up: tinyurl.com/DormontLitterCleanUp2025).
Dormont Goes Green is happening this Sunday from 11am-1pm following the Spring Litter Clean Up (tinyurl.com/DormontLitterCleanUp2025). At this event, residents & attendees can meet with a variety of organizations see below for a list and info about organization participating! Be sure to get some Millie’s while there – free Millie’s for all volunteers at the Spring Litter Clean-Up!
Adam Solar Rides – will offer the opportunity to try some electric bikes & other mobility options!
Pennsylvania Resource Council – Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) is a statewide environmental organization dedicated to the vision of a Pennsylvania where nothing is wasted. We will have information about our upcoming workshops, zero-waste efforts, and how residents can take action to support local waste diversion.
Dormont Stormwater Authority – Dormont Stormwater is committed to Completing stormwater management projects, Controlling sediment, contaminants, and pollutants, Implementing state and federal clean water regulations, Facilitating public education and public involvement and Improving the water quality of the Saw Mill Run Watershed and the Ohio River. The Board members and management team will be at the event to talk about our mission and projects.
Safe Mobility Commission – The Borough’s Safe Mobility Committee (SMC) is partnering with the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC) to promote safe transportation in Dormont! The SPC is the region’s planning agency that directs federal and state funding for transportation infrastructure projects in southwestern Pennsylvania. There will be giveaways, a short safety survey, and a bike-decorating station, so bring your bicycles!
Community Garden Project – A Dormont Arts Project will offer the opportunity to paint your very own rock!

Comprehensive Plan – At the Comprehensive Plan table, visitors can learn what priorities and projects are in the Borough of Dormont’s playbook for the next 10 years. Consultants will be on hand to show off displays, answer questions and collect any comments. More details at DormontByDesign.com.
