WEATHER AND CLOSURE POLICIES
The Dormont Pool may close due to inclement weather, accidental contamination, low outdoor temperatures, low attendance, or maintenance issues. There are no rainchecks or refunds for closures due to these reasons. We will not make any exceptions to this rule.
- The Dormont Pool may close early, delay opening, or fail to open if the outdoor temperature is 68 degrees or below.
- The Dormont Pool adheres to PA Department of Health Operation and Biological Contamination Protocol Recommendations for your safety. This includes adhering to required closures and decontamination processes in the event of an accidental fecal release.
- Lightning: the Dormont Pool staff will clear the pool in the case of lightning within a 5-mile radius. The Dormont Pool will remain clear for 30 minutes after the latest lightning strike within this radius. Every subsequent lightning strike within the 5- mile radius will restart the 30-minute clock.
- If there is a lightning strike after 7:00pm, the Dormont Pool will close for the evening.
- Rain: if the bottom of the pool cannot be seen due to the rain, the pool will be cleared until the rain subsides and visibility is restored.
- It is up to management’s discretion to assess the radar and forecast when deciding to reopen or close for the day.
- At management’s discretion, the Dormont Pool may close early if fewer than 10 guests are in attendance for 120 consecutive minutes.
- The Dormont Pool may close due to the loss of power or maintenance issues that need to be addressed.
- No refunds will be issued for inclement weather, contamination incidents, low temperature, low-attendance or maintenance-related closures.
