Dormont Municipal Center Artists Reception
Join us for an Artist Reception at the Dormont Municipal Center on July 30th from 6 to 8 pm to meet the artists whose works are currently featured on the walls of the building. Light snacks and mocktails will be available for guests.
The exhibit features the art of Nick Ruble, Joshua Hoffman, and Brett Mason.
We are all excited by the results of great art that engages with nature and the outdoors while it is being created. Joshua, Brett, and Nick thoughtfully select locations to render their art in all seasons. They are actively employing their unique sense of controlled spontaneity, keen eye, inventive color work, and skilled brushwork for these paintings. Many of these paintings were created on the spot, plein air* while outdoors.
*Plein air or en plein air (pronounced plen-air) is a French expression meaning “in the open air”. It refers to the practice of painting outdoors directly from observation, rather than inside a studio. This method allows artists to capture the fleeting effects of natural light, weather, and atmosphere in real-time.
