The Dormont Pool lifeguards have been planning a Hawaiian themed Community Day for the past few weeks. During this time, wildfires have devastated parts of Hawaii including the historic town of Lahaina. In reflection and response of this devastating event, the Dormont Pool will still host the Hawaiian themed community day and will use this an opportunity to raise monetary funds to support the recovery efforts. The Dormont Pool lifeguards selected Global Giving – Hawaii Wildlife Relief Fund to receive any monetary donations.
At this community day, there will be games, activities and Hawaiian music playing throughout the event. You will be able to donate at the Dormont Pool that day and all donations received will be sent to the Hawaii Wildlife Relief Fund.

All donations to this fund will support wildfire relief and recovery efforts in Hawaii. Initially, the fund helps first responders meet survivors’ immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, medicine, and shelter. As needs emerge, donations will support longer-term recovery efforts run by local, vetted organizations in impacted areas, particularly those working with low-income, historically underserved communities.
