Gov. Tom Wolf has issued a stay-at-home order for residents of several Pennsylvania counties, including Allegheny County. The order took effect at 8 p.m. Monday. Wolf said it will remain in effect for two weeks.
The Borough of Dormont has the following updates relevant to our community:
- All playgrounds, sports courts and athletic fields are closed. Dormont Park will remain open and available for walking/exercise as long as proper social distancing practices are followed.
- April street sweeping is cancelled.
- Glass Recycling Pop-Up Event postponed until at least May.
- Waste Management Update: Waste Management has announced a number of changes to their collections, including: no bulk/appliance collections, spring cleanups, or yard waste collections. All trash/refuse must be bagged and sealed (and wherever possible) placed in containers. Loose items will not be collected. All recyclables must be placed inside a recycling bin. Loose items will not be collected. These services will restart when social distancing recommendations have eased.
